About Me
Hi, my name is Dorian Todd, I'm an ambitious student with a passion for mechanical engineering and industrial fabrication. From a young age, I was fascinated by how things function, often disassembling gadgets out of curiosity. This hands-on interest led me to pursue mechanical engineering coursework, join my school's robotics team, and so much more.
As part of the robotics team, I gained valuable experience in CAD design, machining, and programming robots. I helped design and build robots that competed in regional competitions, putting my fabrication skills to the test. Outside of school, I expanded my knowledge by reading engineering blogs and magazines to stay on top of the latest technology and innovations.
To further develop my skills, I started an internship at S&S Machine, a local machine shop. As an intern, I learned how to use precision measurement tools and perform quality control on machined parts, and helped run CNC machines, EDMs, and more. This provided invaluable insight into manufacturing processes and led to my continued employment at S and S Machine.
I plan to study mechanical engineering in college and pursue a career in product development. I am deeply interested in the entire process of taking a design from idea to physical product. My motivation, hands-on experience, and strong technical foundation make me well-poised to achieve my goals in the engineering industry.
